Inexpensive Romantic Gift Idea - Fill a Memory Box
By Dave Pipitone
Romance in your marriage is a two-way street. If you are trying to revive some romance in your marriage, let your wife know what you are trying to do and enjoy the creative process together.
It is important to know your partner well enough to know whether your changed behavior will be a pleasant surprise OR just perceived as odd or unusual behavior.
Give your wife a ‘memory box’ and buy or find unique things to send to her. Each item should have some significance to the two of you. Think of how a charm bracelet has shapes and symbols that remind your wife of an event or an activity.
These can be free items you pick up, like a seashell near the ocean, or small items you buy at a discount store, or they can be expensive if you wish. A great place to find shapes, items and things to use is a craft store. These stores have lots of little figures, animals and shapes you can use to represent events or things or ideas in your life. When you send an item to your wife, write a little note to explain what the symbol or figure represents to you. She can store all the items in the memory box you gave her and look at the items whenever she gets lonely.
You certainly don’t want to FORCE your wife to do anything she does not want to do! And, if you are really trying to put romance in your life and IF you are sensitive to your wife's preferences and desires, you should have no problem convincing her that you will both enjoy this process.
